We are in a season of spiritual awakening within the body of Christ. As this awakening unfolds, God is shifting us into a place of acceleration. However, many people, churches, and ministries are not functioning at their full potential. A spirit has lulled the body of Christ into complacency, robbing many of the fullness of their inheritance.

Each generation experiences a fresh move of God—a divine visitation. When you step into the newness of that move, there is an overwhelming sense of life, anticipation, joy, and expectation because the encounter is life-changing. You can’t wait to attend church, look forward to Bible study, and eagerly participate in all-night prayer watches. You share what God is doing with anyone who will listen. However, some become stuck in what was once new, and over time, it becomes common. The newness loses its luster, and if you’re not careful, even a fresh move can become routine. Prayer becomes mechanical, and serving feels like mere work.

Isaiah 32:9 says, "Rise up, you women who are at ease, hear my voice; you complacent daughters, give ear to my speech."

When things become routine, you lose your spiritual alertness. Your ability to discern God’s voice and direction weakens, and your strength is drained. There has been a widespread spirit of complacency in the church. People are reluctant to contend for the faith that was once delivered. They seek convenience and simplicity. This may not be a pleasant message, but that is part of the problem. Constantly receiving pleasant words has led many into a deep spiritual slumber, causing people to simply go through the motions in their daily walk and service to the Lord. Leaders and intercessors alike have fallen into this state of complacency.

Here is a prophetic word for your life: It is time to wake up, arise, and shake off the dust of worldly cares.

Isaiah 52:1-2 declares, "Awake, awake! Put on your strength, O Zion; put on your beautiful garments, O Jerusalem, the holy city! For the uncircumcised and the unclean shall no longer come to you. Shake yourself from the dust, arise; sit down, O Jerusalem! Loose yourself from the bonds of your neck, O captive daughter of Zion."

To break free from the spirit of complacency, God sends voices—men and women of God—to speak words that stir a desire for His Kingdom. To awaken means to stir yourself up. As you do, your ability to discern God’s voice and direction will be restored, and your strength will be renewed like the eagle’s. When you come out of complacency, one of the first things God does is restore a new praise and a fresh sound in the earth. Begin your day with praise, and watch God shift and accelerate your life.
